A report has suggested that the Carolina Panthers believed that the New England Patriots benefited from taping their practices in their triumph in Super Bowl XXXVIII.
The Patriots were accused of taping the walkthrough of the St Louis Rams ahead of their clash in Super Bowl XXXVI by the Boston Herald in the aftermath of the spygate scandal.
The allegations were proven to be false and the Herald printed a full apology to the club on the front and back pages of the publication.
However, further claims have been made by a member of the Panthers, who believes that Bill Belichick's men may have taped their practices due to their success in the match in the 2003 season.
"Our players came in after that first half and said it was like [the Patriots] were in our huddle," a Panthers source told ESPN. "Do I have any tape to prove they cheated? No. But I'm convinced they did it."
The report has also claimed that the Patriots sent employees into the locker rooms of opposing teams to steal playsheets ahead of their matches at Gillette Stadium.
