Detroit Lions' Martin Mayhew: 'Draft has a lot of depth'

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew believes that the 2014 NFL Draft class has a lot talent and feels there is great depth to select potential starters in later rounds.

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew believes that there is a "lot of depth" in talent in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The 2014 Draft class have been hailed as the most talented in years, with many teams adamant that they can find starting players for next season in the later rounds.

Mayhew told reporters: "There is a lot of depth in this Draft, not just in that area, but going back in round two, round three.

"There are going to be some really good football players there to be taken, so we're excited about this process.

"It's going to make our football team a lot better. I mean, we're always excited about the draft, but this is going to make our football team a lot better, I think."

The Lions hold the 10th overall pick in the first round of the Draft.
