Draft prospect Jadeveon Clowney: 'I can do it all'

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney says that he can "be a playmaker and win games", as he looks to be chosen first by the Houston Texans during May's NFL Draft.

Former South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has insisted that he should be chosen first in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Following his impressive Pro Day performances, the Houston Texans are said to be mulling over choosing Clowney with the first pick, despite their need for a new quarterback.

Although Clowney has previously stated that he wants to be number one pick, the 21-year-old has now come out and said that he should be, as he can "do everything."

He told reporters: "I can pretty much do it all. Anything on defense I can help. I can be a playmaker because I am a playmaker. I've got what it takes, I believe, to go out there and set the tone for the next guy coming up. And to help my team out winning games.

"Every team I've ever played with, we've never had a losing season. Never. Even during high school or middle school. I can play every position on the field because I'm an athlete. Whatever they want me to play, I can be good at it. I have no problem dropping and moving.

"I've told the Texans that the defense will be one of the best if they draft me. With JJ Watt there already, and me playing beside a guy like that, I'll be great."

Quarterbacks Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater are also said to be in contention to be chosen first, depending on which way the Texans opt to go.
