Wes Welker pens one-year deal with St Louis Rams

Wide receiver Wes Welker keeps his NFL career alive by signing a one-year deal with the St Louis Rams.

The St Louis Rams have signed veteran wide receiver Wes Welker on a one-year deal.

The 34-year-old has been without a club since he was allowed to leave the Denver Broncos when his contract expired earlier this year.

Welker struggled with concussions last season, but has come through the Rams' medical evaluation to keep his NFL career alive for another campaign.

"We've done physicals, we've done everything," Rams head coach Jeff Fisher told reporters. "I think he'll eventually move some chains for us."

Welker has recorded 890 receptions for 9,822 yards and 50 touchdowns in his 11-year NFL career.
