Scottish Sports Minister Shona Robison has revealed that Scotland could have their own Olympic and Paralympic teams for Rio 2016.

Plans to become their own nation at the Games will be put into motion if the country votes for independence next year.

"We're comfortable and assured Scotland will have its own Olympic and Paralympic team," Robison told BBC Sport. "It will bring many benefits."

The referendum takes place on September 18, 2014.
