Traffic Report: Cycling road race will lead to road closures

Women's road race expected to cause disruption in Surrey and central London.

Welcome to Sports Mole's traffic report for this morning's Olympics action.

A good service is being reported on all London Underground lines if you are making your way to an Olympic event this morning.

Due to the women's road race, which is taking place throughout the day, a large number of roads in Surrey and also surrounding the Pall Mall area will be closed from 5am until the conclusion of the race so you are advised to plan your journey accordingly.

Olympic events will be taking place at the Olympic Park, River Zone and throughout Central London, so it is expected that the surrounding areas will be extremely busy during the day.

Away from London, there is a women's football match between Egypt and New Zealand at Old Trafford at 12pm, so expect disruption on the roads in Manchester prior to kickoff.
