Sports Mole brings you a traffic update ahead of this afternoon's Olympics action around the country.

The roads heading into central London, along with the Underground system, is due to experience minor delays heading into this afternoon's Olympic events.

Those travelling by road to Greenwich Park for the equestrian individual eventing final are expected to experience queues on the A4 Great West Road eastbound in Brentford between the A3002 Boston Manor Road junction and the M4 junction due to Games lanes.

The Underground system is currently operating as normal, with no planned disruptions. However, the Central line is due to delay travellers following a fire earlier today at Leyton.

Spectators heading up to Newcastle to watch Canada against Sweden in the women's football event may experience some problems if travelling via car as a lane in the A1 Western Bypass in Birtley is temporarily closed, which is preventing cars from exiting the slip road northbound at the A167 Durham Road junction.

Football fans travelling to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for this afternoon's match between Great Britain and Brazil in the women's event should expect to encounter traffic queues on the M4 eastbound at junction 33.
