Martyn Rooney, Rabah Yousif through to men's 400m semi-finals

Great Britain duo Martyn Rooney and Rabah Yousif reach the semi-finals of the men's 400m at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

Martyn Rooney and Rabah Yousif have qualified for the semi-finals of the men's 400m at the World Athletics Championships.

Great Britain's captain produced his personal best of 44.45s to finish fourth in his heat, although he managed to get through as one of six fastest losers.

Yousif's path to the semis proved to be more clear cut as he powered to victory in heat number five in a time of 45.24s.

Fellow Briton Jarryd Dunn was unable to reach the semi-finals after he finished sixth in his race, posting a time of 45.49s.

The semi-finals takes place on Monday.
