Great Britain's women finish seventh in wheelchair basketball by beating Mexico 59-37

Great Britain's women have finished seventh in the wheelchair basketball after beating Mexico 59-37 in their playoff at the ExCel Arena.

The British side have done one better than their campaign in Beijing after a slow start, which resulted in a 11-6 deficit in the first quarter.

The Brits tried to put pressure on their Mexican opponents but they once again came up short in the second quarter and ended the half one basket adrift of their competitors.

In what initially looked like a possible defeat for the British women, ParalympicsGB stepped up their game to take the lead and shock Mexico with a 14-point advantage.

Britian managed to maintain their dominance and clinch the seventh spot in the tournament by extending their lead to 59.
