Pakistan set UAE 340 to win in Napier

Pakistan reach 339-6 from their 50 overs to set the UAE a difficult total in their Pool B clash in Napier.

Half-centuries from three of Pakistan's top five has helped them to set the UAE 340 to win their Pool B clash at the World Cup.

After winning the toss and electing to field, the UAE made a promising start as Manjula Guruge dismissed opener Nasir Jamshed for just four in the third over.

However, Ahmed Shehzad recovered well to put on 160 for the second wicket alongside Haris Sohail, who departed for 70 when he picked out Shaiman Anwar at mid-on off the bowling of Mohammad Naveed.

Shehzad fell seven runs short of his century when he was run out in the 35th over, but contributions from Sohaib Maqsood (45) and Misbah-ul-Haq (65) pushed Pakistan towards a commanding total.

Shahid Afridi (21*) finished off the innings with 21 from seven balls as Pakistan reached 339-6 from their 50 overs.
