Hampshire overcome Worcestershire in T20 Blast quarter-finals

James Vince scores an unbeaten 107 to help Hampshire on their way to a T20 Blast quarter-final victory over Worcestershire Rapids at New Road.

An unbeaten century by captain James Vince against Worcestershire Rapids has helped Hampshire on their way to a record sixth consecutive T20 Blast Finals Day.

The hosts went down by 17 runs at New Road after bad light halted their innings in the quarter-final clash.

Hampshire were asked to bat first, building some solid early footing through the work of Vince - who made it to 107 not out - and fellow opener Michael Carberry (42).

Carberry was eventually run out by Ed Barnard, while Adam Wheater also made 32 before Barnard took a good running catch.

Worcestershire were unable to cope, losing Moeen Ali (10) with just three overs gone, while Tom Kohler-Cadmore (9) failed to provide any further hope.

Ross Whiteley (16*) was the last man at the crease before the umpires adjudged that play had become dangerous under the lighting, with the Rapids 58.1 off 8.1 overs in reply to Hampshire's 196-4 off 20 overs.
