ITV is reportedly considering a new location for Big Brother ahead of this year's civilian series.

ITV is reportedly planning to move the Big Brother house ahead of this year's civilian series.

The iconic reality show made a triumphant comeback last year from a new purpose-built location near Wembley in North London, which was also home to Celebrity Big Brother last month.

According to The Sun, however, producers are not happy with the venue due to its proximity to a canal which attracts drunken revellers.

"During filming of the most recent series they found that quite a few barge and boat users on the canal were pulling up and being quite lairy which disrupted filming," a source told the newspaper.

"Of all the issues to arise, this was not on their radar.

"In fact, the bosses thought filming in studios next to a waterway would be a bonus. They built the entrance to the BB house right next to the bank with the potential to have housemates brought up to the front in a boat aping the James Bond movies.

"But then they found out it wasn't a river but a canal with a maximum speed limit of 4mph so the idea was abandoned."

The newspaper says that ITV is now scouting out new potential locations for the BB house ahead of the show's return this October.
