Simon Cowell says that he has "some good ideas" to freshen up Britain's Got Talent when it returns next year.

Simon Cowell has revealed that he has "some good ideas" to improve Britain's Got Talent when it returns next year.

The show normally airs on ITV every Spring but the 2020 edition was split into two halves due to the coronavirus pandemic, while this year's series had to be cancelled entirely as the UK entered a fresh lockdown.

Filming on the 2022 series is expected to go ahead as planned in January and after 18 months away, Cowell admitted that he is looking to freshen up the format.

Talking to the Daily Star, he said: "We've had some good ideas. I mean, we just had some good ideas because we had to pull the show at the very, very last moment.

"And because we were going to shoot this in January this year - and that was before the second variant came along.

"So we had to make a last-minute decision. We just had to cancel it, and I wasn't very popular at the time."

Cowell is expected to be on the judging panel for BGT, despite recently pulling out of an on-screen role on his upcoming new ITV competition series Walk The Line.
