Princess Diana's butler Paul Burrell reveals that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Paul Burrell has revealed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer last summer.

The 64-year-old, who worked as the late Princess Diana's butler in the '80s and '90s, learned of his illness during a routine medical for a TV show - believed to be the All-Stars edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

"Out of that came a surprisingly high PSA test. I had no idea what a PSA test was," he said during an appearance on Lorraine

"So I went to my GP, he said, 'This is unusual' and he examined me and sent me for an MRI scan. And the MRI scan of course was the window in which they looked through and saw a shadow on my prostate."

Asked how he was coping with the news, he replied: "I'm on an emotional, educational rollercoaster, ups and downs, not knowing where I'm going to be.

"Having a biopsy itself and finding the cancer, wrapping Christmas presents this year thinking, 'Am I going to be here next year? I need to tell my boys.'"

Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer among males in the UK, with over 52,000 men diagnosed every year, but is also one of the most survivable, with over 85% of those diagnosed still alive after five years or more.
