Channel 4 confirms a new multi-year deal for Married At First Sight UK, with a 30-episode new series planned for this year.

Channel 4 has confirmed that it has reached a "multi-year" deal for new series of Married At First Sight UK.

The dating show, which airs on E4, had an overhaul in 2021 to bring it in line with the popular longer-form Australian version of the format.

The changes proved to be a hit with viewers, with episode one alone pulling in a total of over 2.4 million, and as a result this year's new series will be the longest yet - running to 30 episodes.

"After a phenomenal first series that had the country bingeing and talking about it in their millions, I'm thrilled we're extending the Married At First Sight UK brand even further, firmly rooting it at the heart of our plans to establish E4 as a Reality and Factual powerhouse," said Karl Warner, C4's head of youth and digital.

"Married at First Sight UK is the real deal when it comes to finding love and with our expert match makers on hand, we're back searching the country to try to create more love-matches. It's an intense, roller coaster format that bursts with emotion in every scene - bring on the first dinner party!"

Casting for the new series is now underway, with filming expected to take place later this spring.
