Reality star Joey Essex is reportedly planning to move to Dubai following a break-in at his Essex mansion last year.

The former TOWIE star - a runner-up on this year's Dancing On Ice - was said to be "horrified and shaken" when burglars targeted his home while he was on a night out with friends.

According to The Sun, the incident led to the 32-year-old deciding to live a dual life in the UK and Dubai, a notorious hotspot for British social media influencers.

A source told the newspaper: "Joey has started house-hunting in Dubai. He is planning to buy a base out there so he can jet off whenever he likes.

"Joey will be splitting his time between his home in Essex and his new place in Dubai. He loves the lifestyle out there and feels completely safe."

"The incident at his house made him think about his life and what he wants from it," the source added.

"Joey has been looking at properties over the past few days and is weighing up his options. It is a really exciting time for him."

The impending move to the Middle East is also said to have resulted in Essex splitting from girlfriend Vanessa Bauer, who was his professional partner on Dancing On Ice.
