Channel 4 reportedly delays ordering new series of Hunted and Celebrity Hunted until 2025 amid the broadcaster's budget woes.

Channel 4 has reportedly delayed ordering new series of Hunted and Celebrity Hunted until next year.

The format sees pairs of contestants go "on the run" around Great Britain, aiming to evade capture by a team of professional "hunters" in order to win a cash prize.

The show - launched in 2015 - has aired seven civilian series and five celebrity series to date, although another celebrity series has already been filmed and will air later this year.

According to Broadcast, Channel 4 is expected to commission a new civilian series and celebrity series but will wait until after the next celebrity series airs before making an official order.

The broadcaster is currently under budgetary pressures and has been ruthless in axing formats - and delaying recommissioning decisions - in order to balance the books in 2024.
