Ronald Koeman: 'Everyone at Everton disappointed with Burnley result'

Everton boss Ronald Koeman says that he "can't complain" about discontent from the Toffees fans following Sunday's 1-0 Premier League home defeat to Burnley.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has claimed that he "can't complain" about the fans' discontent following Sunday's 1-0 Premier League home defeat to Burnley.

The Dutchman spent heavily in this summer, signing the likes of Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen, in a bid to improve on their seventh-place finish last season.

However, the Toffees currently sit 16th in the table having suffered four defeats in their last five games, the latest of which came against the Clarets at Goodison Park, and some fans have begun calling for Koeman to be sacked.

In addition, Everton have only scored four goals in the league this season, with only bottom-placed Crystal Palace and Swansea City, 18th in the table, having scored fewer.

"I can't complain about the reactions of fans. Everyone is disappointed about the result but I don't think they can be disappointed about the commitment," Koeman told BBC Sport.

"I like the team and my players. The solution starts by the commitment of the players and we need to improve and have a bit of luck."

Everton's next fixture following the international break is a trip to newly-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion.
