Roma 'reject £35m bid for Alisson'

Roma reportedly turn down a bid of £35m from Serie A rivals Napoli for Liverpool target Alisson.

Roma have reportedly turned down a bid of £35m from Napoli for Liverpool target Alisson.

The 25-year-old is believed to be a top target for Jurgen Klopp's side this summer as they look for a new number one to replace Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have also been monitoring the keeper's situation and have struck early with a bid of £30m up front with a further £5m in bonuses.

The newspaper says that the capital outfit have promptly rejected the offer, however, insisting that they will not entertain any bids lower than £80m for the Brazilian.

Previous reports have suggested that the Reds may have to spend as much as £90m in order to land their man - more than double the world-record fee of £34.7m that Manchester City paid for Ederson last summer.

Alisson's current contract has no release clause but Roma are thought to be preparing a lucrative new deal for the player, complete with a significant release clause.
