Reporter Dharmesh Sheth says that Bayern Munich are still "very interested" in Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.

Reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Bayern Munich are still "very interested" in signing Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane during this summer's transfer window.

The Bundesliga champions were strongly linked with the Germany international ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, but a serious knee injury saw Sane's chances of leaving the Etihad Stadium come to an end.

The 24-year-old has still not signed a new deal with Pep Guardiola's side, though, and will be out of contract at the end of next season unless he pens an extension.

Sheth has claimed that Bayern "remain very interested" in a deal for the German despite the current uncertainty surrounding the world of football.

"City are almost certainly going to need to bring in a winger. Leroy Sane's contract is up in the summer of 2021 and he hasn't signed City's offer of a new one. Bayern Munich remain very interested in signing him," Sheth told Sky Sports News.

Sane has scored 39 times and registered 45 assists in 134 outings for the Citizens since arriving from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2016.
