Manchester United will not sell Cristiano Ronaldo during this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly have no desire to sell Cristiano Ronaldo during this summer's transfer window amid the recent speculation surrounding the forward.

The Portugal international scored 24 goals and registered three assists in 38 appearances for the Red Devils last season following his return to the club from Juventus.

Man United finished sixth in the 2021-22 Premier League table, though, and ended the season without a trophy, which has led to suggestions that Ronaldo could move on this summer.

Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes is believed to have met with new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly to discuss a possible move to Stamford Bridge in the current market.

Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest, although the German champions are not believed to be planning a move for the 37-year-old this summer.

Ronaldo is believed to be concerned that Man United are being left further behind by their rivals, with the club yet to make a signing during this summer's transfer window.

However, according to BBC Sport, the 20-time English champions fully expect the former Sporting Lisbon youngster to be a part of their squad for the 2022-23 campaign.

The report claims that Man United are 'adamant' that the attacker is 'not for sale', with the club not prepared to discuss the possibility of him leaving ahead of next season.

Ronaldo still has one year left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, with the option of a further 12 months, and new head coach Erik ten Hag is said to view him as a vital part of his plans moving forward.

The Portuguese scored 18 Premier League goals for Man United during the 2021-22 campaign, but a disappointing season for the club saw them finish sixth, meaning that they will play in the Europa League next term rather than the Champions League.

The club's lack of summer signings are believed to have worried Ronaldo, although there is expected to be a lot of movement at Old Trafford before the start of the new season in early August.

Man United are believed to be making strong progress in a proposed deal for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, while Ajax attacker Antony is also said to be a leading summer target.

The 20-time English champions will be back in pre-season training on Monday, although the players involved for their countries during the recent international break will not report for duty until next month.

The Red Devils will take on Liverpool in their pre-season opener on July 12, while they will also face Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano in friendlies this summer.

Ten Hag's team will then open their 2022-23 Premier League campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7 before making the trip to Brentford one week later.
