Thursday's Primeira Liga predictions including Porto vs. Vitoria de Guimaraes

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Thursday's Primeira Liga fixtures, including Porto vs. Vitoria de Guimaraes.

Tondela vs. Nacional (Thursday, 3.00pm)

Nacional will be looking to bring an end to their nine-game losing streak when they face Tondela at the Estadio Joao Cardoso on Thursday afternoon.

The visitors are bottom of the Primeira Liga standings and are running out of time to avoid relegation, whereas their opponents are jostling for position in mid-table.

We say: Tondela 2-0 Nacional

Tondela have lost back-to-back matches on home soil and have little left to play for this season on the face of it.

However, Nacional have lost nine games in a row and this presents the hosts with a good chance to climb into the top half of the division, one which we expect them to take full advantage of.

Gil Vicente vs. Famalicao (Thursday, 5.00pm)

Famalicao are hovering perilously close to the relegation zone heading into Thursday evening's Primeira Liga clash with mid-table Gil Vicente at Estadio Cidade de Barcelos.

The visitors lost for the first time in five games last time out, while Gil Vicente won away at Benfica to continue their ascent up the division.

We say: Gil Vicente 1-1 Famalicao

Gil Vicente have been on a good run of form and are just about in contention for a European spot, while Famalicao could be dragged into the bottom three with defeat here.

However, that does not quite tell the whole story as the hosts have an underwhelming record on their own patch, so we are backing Famalicao to pick up a valuable away point.

Portimonense vs. Benfica (Thursday, 7.00pm)

Benfica will be looking to bounce back from a surprise defeat in their most recent match when they make the trip to Portimonense on Thursday evening.

The Eagles went down 2-1 to bottom-half side Gil Vicente at the weekend, while Portimonense continued their good form with victory at Famalicao.

We say: Portimonense 1-3 Benfica

These sides have won 11 of their last 14 games between them, though it is Portimonense who have the better record over the past month after Benfica slipped up at the weekend.

The visitors do not lose back-to-back games all that often, however, and we expect their quality to tell in this contest at Estadio Municipal de Portimao.

Porto vs. Guimaraes (Thursday, 9.00pm)

Porto will be aiming to maintain their winning run in the Primeira Liga when they host Vitoria de Guimaraes at Estadio do Dragao on Thursday night.

The Dragons have won six in a row to keep the pressure on leaders Sporting Lisbon, while Guimaraes ended a losing streak last time out to move into sixth.

We say: Porto 2-0 Vitoria de Guimaraes

Porto have won six games in a row in the league and, put simply, they need to maintain that perfect streak until the end of the season if they are to catch leaders Sporting.

Guimaraes have their eyes on a European spot, but they have won just two of their last 12 and we cannot see them claiming a share of the spoils here.
