Roma 5-2 Novara

Roma come from a goal behind to claim all three points from their home fixture against Novara.

Roma came from a goal behind to record a 5-2 victory over Novara at the Stadio Olimpico this afternoon.

Struggling Novara started the brighter of the two sides and went on to break the deadlock in the 17th minute. Giuseppe Gemiti sent over a cross to Andrea Caracciolo and the former Sampdoria striker headed into the corner of the net.

The home side responded positively and they drew themselves level eight minutes later when Marquinho converted a cross from Pablo Osvaldo.

Osvaldo went on to find the net in the 34th minute to give his side the lead at the break by heading in a lofted pass from captain Francesco Totti.

Fabio Simplicio extended Roma's lead after the restart when he curled an effort in to the top right-hand corner of the net with 53 minutes played.

The points were made safe just after the hour mark when former Barcelona youngster Bojan slotted in following a through ball from Jose Angel.

Visiting Novara managed to add their second of the game in the 77th minute when Takayuki Morimoto struck from close range.

There was still time for Roma to find their fifth of the afternoon courtesy of Argentine Erik Lamela in stoppage time.

Despite the victory, Roma remain sixth in the Serie A table.
