Further karate gold-medal joy for Spain

Sandra Jaime Sanchez takes gold in the women's kata to add to compatriot Damian Hugo Quintero's success in the men's equivalent at Baku 2015.

Spain's karate success at the 2015 European Games has continued courtesy of Sandra Jaime Sanchez's gold-medal win in the women's kata.

The 33-year-old, who also came out on top in the National Championships last year, beat France's Sandy Scordo to add to compatriot Damian Hugo Quintero's earlier victory in the men's equivalent.

Sanchez claimed a convincing 5-0 win in the final, while Dilara Bozan of Turkey had to settle for bronze after beating German competitor Jasmin Bleul by the same margin.

Spain now have two medals to their name at Baku 2015, both of which have come in today's karate events.
