First gold of Baku 2015 for Spain in men's kata

Spain win their first gold medal of the inaugural European Games courtesy of Damian Hugo Quintero's exploits in the men's kata in Baku.

Damian Hugo Quintero has claimed gold in the men's kata to get Spain off the mark at the inaugural European Games.

The 30-year-old resoundingly beat Italy's Mattia Busato 5-0 in the gold-medal final to earn his country's first success in Baku.

Turkey's Mehmet Yakan got the better of Frenchman Minn Dack to claim bronze, meanwhile, securing a 4-1 triumph in that bout at Crystal Hall.

Quintero also came out on top in last year's World Championships.
