Cambridge complete Boat Race clean sweep over Oxford

Cambridge complete a clean sweep over Oxford in the 164th Boat Race thanks to victories in the men's, women's and reserve races.

Cambridge have completed a clean sweep over Oxford in the 2018 Boat Race.

Having chosen the Surrey station, Cambridge's men quickly established control in the 164th contest, getting ahead of their rivals before the first bend and never looking back.

Cambridge won in 17 minutes and 50 seconds, with Oxford finishing 10 seconds and four lengths back, and took their total victories in the famous race to 83-80.

The Light Blues earlier emphatically won the 73rd Women's Boat Race, beating their rivals by seven lengths in a time of 19 minutes nine seconds.

Head coach Rob Baker's Cambridge crew claimed victory for the second year running - their first back-to-back triumphs this century.

Cambridge also captured the two reserve races, as Blondie and Goldie respectively beat Osiris and Isis, to complete a clean sweep.
