London Welsh confirm double swoop

London Welsh confirm that they have signed half-backs Joe Carlisle and Josh Davies ahead of next season.

London Welsh have confirmed that half-backs Joe Carlisle and Josh Davies will join the club at the end of the season.

Former Wasps back Carlisle, 27, currently plays for Italian side Treviso, while ex-Wales Under-20 international Davies will move from Plymouth Albion.

"We are delighted to have secured the services of Joe and Josh for next season's campaign," London Welsh director of rugby Steve Lewis is quoted as saying by Premiershiprugby.com.

"Joe is hugely experienced, an accurate goal-kicker with good distribution and excellent game management, while Josh is an exciting young player who has shown enough in his short career so far to suggest that he will be an excellent addition to our fast developing squad."

The Exiles are preparing for life in the Championship following a dismal campaign in the Aviva Premiership. They sit at the bottom of the table after losing all 20 of their games so far.

London Welsh continue their league campaign on Saturday when they make the trip to leaders Northampton Saints.
