Racing Metro are close to agreeing a deal for All Blacks star Dan Carter, according to reports.
The deal would see Carter, 32, join the French side after next year's World Cup as a replacement for Leinster-bound fly-half Jonathan Sexton.
Speculation about the move first emerged earlier this year, but Metro now appear to be ready to confirm a deal which could go through as early as next week, claims ESPN.
It would be the second time that Carter, who is the leading scoring in the history of international rugby, has played in France after he spent an injury-plagued spell with Perpignan in 2009.
However, if Carter does join Metro, he will be unavailable for selection for the All Blacks as a result of their policy of only picking home-based players.
