Team GB pair Steve Morrison and Ben Rhodes miss out on a medal in the men's 49er event, finishing fifth overall.

Team GB duo Steve Morrison and Ben Rhodes have missed out on a medal in the men's 49er event this afternoon.

Morrison and Rhodes went into the final race as one of six teams in with a chance of winning bronze, but could only manage fifth, finishing in the same spot overall.

For a while it was a straight battle between Austria and Britain for bronze as they battled for the lead of the medal race, but the Danish pair of Allan Norregaard and Peter Lang came back to claim third overall.

Gold and silver were decided before the race even began, with Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen cruising to the top prize for Australia, while New Zealand duo Peter Burling and Blair Tuke took silver.
