All-England final in mixed doubles

There will be an all-English final in the Commonwealth Games mixed doubles after Paul and Jonna Drinkhall, and Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho, win their last-four matches.

England have ended Singapore's dominance of the Commonwealth Games table tennis competition by having two teams qualify for the mixed doubles final.

Liam Pitchford and 15-year-old partner Tin-Tin Ho won a 3-2 thriller against Jian Zhan and Tianwei Fenn of Singapore, who have won every table tennis gold in Glasgow thus far.

Pitchford and Ho went into a two-game lead before their opponents fought back to force them into a decider which went 11-5 in favour of the English duo.

They will play teammates Paul Drinkhall and Joanna Drinkhall in Saturday's final, with the husband-and-wife pairing conquering another English partnership, Danny Reed and Kelly Sibley, by a 3-2 scoreline.

England are now guaranteed gold and silver in the event, but Drinkhall was among those to suffer disappointment in singles competition in Friday's earlier action.
