Andy Murray "very happy" to be back at his best

Rogers Cup winner Andy Murray thanks coach Amelie Mauresmo for guiding him back to his best following an "extremely difficult year".

Andy Murray has thanked coach Amelie Mauresmo for getting him back to near his best after he won the Rogers Cup in Montreal.

The new world number two beat Novak Djokovic 6-4 4-6 6-3 to register his first victory over the Serbian in eight attempts and win his second Masters title of the year.

The Scot said that he is pleased to get back to the top after a tough 12 months, which including undergoing back surgery last year.

He told Sky Sports News: "It was an extremely difficult year for me. I went through a lot and it was around this point last year when I dropped outside the top 10 in the world and there were a lot of questions asked of me.

"A lot of people lost belief in me so I'm very happy that I've managed to fight my way back into this position and playing at this level. I have to thank my team and especially Amelie - this one is for her."

Murray will hope to add the Cincinnati Masters to his collection of trophies this week.
