China have further increased their lead at the top of the medals table with gold and silver in the men's 77kg weightlifting final.

He also took the snatch world record, raising 175kg above his head. His snatch was 5kg above second-placed Haojie Lu, but he was 14kg ahead on the clean and jerk with 204kg compared to Haojie Lu's 190kg.

Third place gave Cuba their first bronze of the games, with Ivan Cambar Rodriguez lifting 349kg overall and just edging out fourth placed Chatuphum Chinnawong of Thailand by a single kilo.
