Zulfiya Chinshanlo wins women's weightlifting gold

Kazakhstan's Zulfiya Chinshanlo sets a new world record in winning gold in the women's 53kg weightlifting.

Kazakhstan's Zulfiya Chinshanlo has won gold in the women's 53kg weightlifting and set a new world record in the process.

The 19-year-old produced a remarkable display to set a new world record of 131kg in the clean and jerk.

Chinshanlo's performance was enough to see off the challenge of Chinese Taipei's Shu-Ching Hsu and Moldova's Cristina Iovu.

Hsu and Iovu both finished on the same weight, but Hsu's better countback was enough to see her awarded the silver medal and relegate Iovu to bronze.
