Bad News Barrett: 'I want to be first British WWE world champion'

Bad News Barrett reveals his ambition to become the first ever British-born WWE world champion.

WWE star Bad News Barrett has revealed his ambition to become the first ever British-born world champion in the company.

Preston-born Barrett, real name Stu Bennett, is scheduled to take part in a ladder match for the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 31 on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the biggest event in the company's annual calendar, Barrett explained his dream to one day become world champion.

He told PW Mania: "It is great being Intercontinental champion, and I am very proud of it, but ultimately there has never been a British WWE World Heavyweight champion before, which I think is ridiculous so I think I am the man to change that.

"That will always be my aim until I leave the WWE. I want to be the World Heavyweight champion and that is what I am shooting for."

Barrett was called up to WWE's main roster back in 2010.
