Baltimore Ravens' Dean Pees confident of secondary improvement

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Dean Pees is optimistic that his side's passing defense will be much better than last season due to the return to fitness of several players.

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Dean Pees is confident that his side's secondary will be much improved for the 2015 season.

The Ravens had a plethora of injuries to their cornerbacks last season as starter Jimmy Smith was ruled out for the season, while Aaron Ross, Asa Jackson and Danny Gorrer were also knocked out of the campaign.

However, Pees feels that the return from injury of Smith along with the addition of Kyle Arrington will provide depth to bring out the best at the position in the 2015 campaign.

He told reporters: "I don't think there's going to be any doubt that we're going to be so much better than we were last year.

"I just really feel like there's a lot of depth back there, and what's really, I think, going to make it good is the competition.

"I don't think anybody has a spot locked up, and I think everybody has to compete, and they have to compete at the highest level, and I think they will. I'm really expecting good things out of them."

The Ravens were ranked 10th in passing defense last season.
