Arsenal are reportedly open to cashing in on one of their Brazilian attackers during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are reportedly open to cashing in on one of their Brazilian forwards during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are currently one of two teams - the other being Manchester City - who are in contention for the Premier League title.

There have been times during the campaign when Mikel Arteta has been frustrated with his attack-minded players, and it remains the case that only three players have reached double figures in the top flight during 2023-24.

However, Arsenal remain with the best attacking record in the division, scoring 85 times during their 35 fixtures to make up for their lack of a traditional centre-forward.

A wide array of different players have been used down the middle of the frontline, with Kai Havertz the current incumbent who has impressively grown into the role.

Arsenal to consider selling Gabriel Jesus?

The same cannot be said of Gabriel Jesus this season, as the Brazil international has failed to show his best form since suffering a knee injury at the 2022 World Cup.

While the hope had been that a summer break would lead to the former Manchester City man coming back refreshed, the 27-year-old has suffered more fitness issues and is currently on a lengthy barren streak.

Jesus has not scored a goal in any competition since netting at Nottingham Forest on January 30; he has since made 10 outings for Arsenal without getting on the scoresheet.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are willing to cash in on Jesus if they receive a suitable offer when business reopens in June.

Although Jesus continues to receive minutes from Arteta, the perception is that the club could benefit from any funds generated from a sale to acquire a striker with a greater presence in the final third.

Is selling Jesus realistic at this point in time?

Arsenal must first determine the fee that it would take to consider a sale, when they shelled out £45m on his services less than two years ago.

As it stands, Arsenal have got 19 goals and 14 assists from 66 appearances for their money, a respectable return in the circumstances.

Nevertheless, it is questionable whether any team in Europe or Saudi Arabia will be willing to give Arsenal their money back for a player who has been limited to 1,863 minutes of football across 32 games in the Premier League and Champions League during 2023-24.

The report adds that it remains entirely possible that Jesus stays put at the Emirates Stadium, the indication being that Eddie Nketiah is more likely to head out the exit door.

With Jesus also having three years left on his contract, the most realistic scenario is continuing at Arsenal and accepting a less-important role in Arteta's squad.
