Separated by two points in the early Serie A standings, Frosinone and Fiorentina meet at Stadio Benito Stirpe on Thursday evening.

The two teams head into Italy's midweek round inside the top half of the table, and both will be aiming to consolidate their good start.

We say: Frosinone 2-2 Fiorentina

Frosinone have averaged over two goals per game on home turf this term, so should be expected to score at least once against a hit-and-miss Fiorentina side being tested by an intense schedule. Amid a run of six games in 17 days, the Viola may slip up at Stadio Stirpe, where their hosts have proved impressive so far.

Two unlikely European hopefuls meet at the U-Power Stadium in Serie A on Thursday, when Monza host Bologna.

The two sides finished in mid-table last season, but were only a few points short of qualifying for Europe, and positive starts suggest they could challenge again.

We say: Monza 1-1 Bologna

In a kinder fixture on paper than what Monza have faced often so far this season, the hosts may still find it difficult against a Bologna side that have taken six points despite scoring just three goals.

That efficiency has seen the visitors lose just one of their last 11 competitive matches, and that streak could well continue here.

Aiming to continue their long dominance of Genoa in Serie A, Roma visit Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Thursday night, when they also seek just a second league win of the season.

While the Giallorossi conceded a late leveller against Torino at the weekend, to remain mired in mid-table, Genoa were beaten by Lecce and have only four points on the board.

We say: Genoa 0-1 Roma

With Genoa averaging less than a goal per game so far - and lagging behind in the possession stats - some sharp finishing from one of Roma's top-notch forwards could prove fatal to the Grifone's hopes of a first home win. Their most recent victory at Marassi was in the Coppa Italia early last month, and that wait will surely go on.
