Saturday's Championship football predictions including Bournemouth vs. Blackburn

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Bournemouth vs. Blackburn Rovers.

Huddersfield vs. Coventry (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Both Huddersfield Town and Coventry City are on poor runs of form going into their Championship fixture at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

The two sides started the campaign strongly and were surprise early playoff contenders but they have dropped out of the top six in recent weeks.

We say: Huddersfield Town 1-1 Coventry City

With both sides struggling for form, it is hard to see either of them having quite enough to claim victory in this game. They may have to settle for a point apiece which neither manager will go home happy with.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Bournemouth vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bournemouth play host to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon looking to end a four-match winless streak in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Blackburn have recently closed the gap to their second-placed opponents to seven points having prevailed in their last three fixtures.

We say: Bournemouth 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

This is an important fixture for both clubs, one which could create a wide-open promotion race if the visitors register all three points. However, we feel that Bournemouth's quality in the final third will help them claim a share of the spoils at the Vitality Stadium.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Birmingham vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Birmingham City's Scott Hogan celebrates scoring their first goal against Derby County in the Championship on September 10, 2021© Reuters

Birmingham City and Cardiff City will be looking to bounce back from Championship defeats last weekend when they lock horns at St Andrews on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts have won three of their last four league matches on home soil, while the visitors are unbeaten in their last three games on the road, scoring at least twice in the process.

We say: Birmingham City 2-2 Cardiff City

Both Birmingham and Cardiff will be desperate to put a consistent run of form together to steer themselves clear of danger. However, with little to separate these two unpredictable teams, a score draw could be on the cards at St Andrews.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Derby vs. Blackpool (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Derby County host Blackpool in the Championship on Saturday afternoon with both clubs looking to arrest poor runs of form.

The Rams are bottom of the table and 20 points adrift of safety due to their points deductions, while the Tangerines are 15th and stranded in mid-table.

We say: Derby County 1-0 Blackpool

Both sides will view this game as the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways, but we think that it will be Derby who will narrowly come out on top in a gritty affair. With the two clubs among the lowest scorers in the Championship, the match may be short of entertainment.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Hull City vs. Bristol City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Hull City play host to Bristol City on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten streak in the Championship to six matches.

The 19th-placed home side sit just four points adrift of the visitors, who have kept themselves out of trouble with two victories in three games.

We say: Hull City 1-1 Bristol City

Now that distance has been established above the bottom three, neither club will want to lose this fixture. With that in mind, do not be surprised if an uneventful draw plays out on Humberside, a result which will suit both teams.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Luton vs. Fulham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Championship leaders Fulham will be seeking to end a run of three successive draws with a victory, when they travel to Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

The last time that these two sides faced each other in the second tier was in 2019-20, their two fixtures produced 11 goals, with a 3-2 win for Fulham at Craven Cottage followed by an entertaining 3-3 draw at Kenilworth Road.

We say: Luton Town 1-2 Fulham

An entertaining contest with plenty of goalmouth action could be on the cards at Kenilworth Road, as both sides have consistently shown an attacking threat in the final third throughout this campaign.

The visitors, who will keen to avoid a fourth successive match without a win, will be the favourites this weekend and should have enough quality to edge out the hosts for all three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Peterborough vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson pictured in November 2020© Reuters

Peterborough United will be seeking their first Championship victory since October 23 when they welcome Millwall to London Road on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors, meanwhile, are hoping to claim back-to-back league wins for the third time this season and close in on the playoff spots.

We say: Peterborough United 1-3 Millwall

As Millwall have kept only one clean sheet in their last 10 league matches, the Lions could be the perfect opponent for Peterborough to end their five-game drought without a goal.

However, the hosts have also struggled defensively this term, conceding more goals (40) than any other side in the division, so we expect the visitors to come out on top at London Road.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Preston vs. Barnsley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bury manager Ryan Lowe pictured in December 2018© Reuters

Ryan Lowe will take charge of his first game as Preston North End manager against Barnsley at Deepdale on Saturday.

The 43-year-old has moved to Lancashire with the club 18th in the Championship table, while the Tykes are 23rd.

We say: Preston North End 1-0 Barnsley

Barnsley are very gradually improving under Asbaghi, but we think that they will come away empty handed against a Preston side likely to benefit from a new manager bounce. The Lilywhites players will be keen to impress Lowe, who is an exciting appointment at Deepdale, and should claim victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Stoke vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Stoke City's manager Michael O'Neill pictured on September 25, 2021© Reuters

Stoke City head into Saturday's Championship fixture with Middlesbrough looking for the victory which will keep them in the playoff places.

However, Boro, who are back in the top 10 after successive wins, travel to the bet365 Stadium sitting just five points adrift of their hosts.

We say: Stoke City 2-1 Middlesbrough

While Stoke will be wary of letting Middlesbrough back into the promotion race, there is also an opportunity to establish further distance between themselves and the chasing pack. With that in mind, we are backing the Potters to show an extra cutting edge in the final third to claim a hard-fought victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Swansea vs. Nott'm Forest (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper celebrates after the match on September 29, 2021© Reuters

Steve Cooper makes his return to South Wales with his Nottingham Forest side having moved one point ahead of former club Swansea City in the Championship table.

With both teams safely in mid-table, this is an opportunity to close the growing gap to the playoffs, currently standing at seven and six points respectively.

We say: Swansea City 1-2 Nottingham Forest

Neither club are strangers to a draw this season, and it would come as no surprise if that was the final result at the weekend. However, there is leeway to push for all three points during the closing stages, something which may play into the favour of the visitors.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

West Brom vs. Reading (Saturday, 3.00pm)

West Bromwich Albion manager Valerien Ismael pictured on September 14, 2021© Reuters

West Bromwich Albion will be looking for consecutive wins for the first time since the end of September when they host Reading at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

The Baggies are currently third in the Championship table while the Royals – who were deducted six points last month – are 20th.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Reading

West Brom's win over Coventry should be a huge confidence boost for Albion and with an unbeaten home record to protect, we think that they will get all three points on Saturday. It is likely to be a tight game though, with Reading showing recent signs of improvement.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
