Hull City manager Liam Rosenior signs a new three-year contract with the Tigers until the summer of 2026, the club confirms.

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has signed a new three-year contract at the club, the Tigers have confirmed.

The 39-year-old - who spent five years on the books at Hull as a player from 2012 to 2015 - took the reins at the MKM Stadium last November after a brief stint as Derby County's caretaker manager.

Rosenior has now taken charge of over a half-century of games for the Tigers, clinching 18 wins, 20 draws and 14 defeats, helping Hull secure Championship safety with a 15th-placed finish last season, having taken over with the club hovering just above the dotted line in 21st.

This time around, Hull have demonstrated their playoff credentials by winning 10, drawing six and losing six of their opening 22 league games to take 36 points, sitting sixth in the table as a result.

Rosenior's men made it back-to-back wins with a 3-0 home beating of Cardiff City at the weekend, and the 39-year-old has now been rewarded for his feats with a new long-running contract until the summer of 2026.

Speaking to the official Hull City website after putting pen to paper, Rosenior said: "I'm delighted. There's no place I'd rather be. Acun and Tan have done amazing work in my time here and the players and backroom staff have been magnificent.

"Justin (Walker) and Ben (Warner), who I brought with me from Derby, and Daws (Andy Dawson) and Baz (Barry Richardson) have supported me unbelievably well.

"For me to commit my future to the club was never in doubt. I absolutely love it here. We have to make sure this is the start of the journey and, hopefully, a successful one.

"Everything we're doing, everything we work towards, is completely aligned and that's why a lot of progress has been made. I'm so proud to represent this club as manager and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the next few years hold for us. Hopefully, we can create a lot of really good memories."

Before transitioning into coaching, Rosenior scored one goal and provided 15 assists in 161 competitive matches for Hull, playing a key role in the club's rise back up to the Premier League from the Championship.

Rosenior also collected an FA Cup runners-up medal in the 2013-14 season owing to Hull's loss to Arsenal in the final, earning the Tigers a spot in the 2014-15 Europa League qualifiers, where they defeated Slovakian side AS Trencin before losing out to Belgian side KSC Lokeren for a place in the group stage.

Hull now prepare for a return to the road to meet Bristol City on Friday before welcoming Sunderland to the MKM Stadium for a Boxing Day battle.
