Conor Grant joins Ipswich Town injury list

Young striker Conor Grant is the latest name to be added to Ipswich Town's growing injury list.

Conor Grant has become the latest name to be added to Ipswich Town's growing injury list ahead of the Tractor Boys' trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

The 21-year-old striker, currently on loan to Town from Everton, picked up a groin injury during a training session on Monday and will miss out on the trip to Molineux.

Mick McCarthy's side are already without the services of Brett Pitman, Luke Hyam and David McGoldrick, leaving the manager seriously short of options up front.

"Didz (McGoldrick) has seen a specialist about his ankle and he doesn't need surgery, which is obviously a positive," McCarthy told the club's website. "It means he will be out for eight to 10 weeks rather than 10-14 weeks.

"Luke Hyam is also going to be out for a few weeks, maybe three or four. We all thought it was bone bruising and it is, but there is nerve damage as well and that is taking a while to heal.

"Brett Pitman is still out with a thigh problem and Conor Grant has come in from training with a tight groin. Both will miss the Wolves game so we are down to the bare bones a bit."

Ipswich defeated Barnsley in their opening game of the Championship season but fell to a 2-0 defeat at Brentford at the weekend, days after they exited the EFL Cup to League Two Stevenage in the first round.
