Man United, Man City 'among teams to scout Kvaratskhelia'

Manchester United and Manchester City had scouts at Georgia's Euro 2024 qualification clash with Spain to watch Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to a report.

Manchester United and Manchester City were reportedly among four Premier League clubs to have scouts at Georgia's Euro 2024 qualification clash with Spain on Sunday to watch Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The 22-year-old made the move to Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in 2022, and he has represented the Italian champions on 58 occasions, scoring 17 goals and registering 22 assists in the process.

Kvaratskhelia was in excellent form for Napoli last season, scoring 14 goals and registering 17 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, the forward, who has a contract in Naples until June 2027, has also impressed this term, scoring three goals and registering five assists in 15 outings.

There has been ongoing speculation surrounding his future over the last few months, and according to 90min, four Premier League clubs had scouts in attendance to watch him represent Georgia against Spain.

The report claims that Man United and Man City both scouted him, while Chelsea and Newcastle United also had staff members at the match to closely monitor his display.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be among the major European clubs interested in signing him in the future.

Kvaratskhelia was on the scoresheet against Spain, but he was unable to prevent his side from suffering a 3-1 defeat to La Roja.

The forward has a record of 15 goals and seven assists in 28 appearances for his country, and Georgia have a chance of reaching next summer's European Championship through the playoffs.

Napoli allegedly have no interest in selling Kvaratskhelia despite the fact that they could ask for an enormous transfer fee due to his form since arriving in Italian football.

The attacker has two goals and five assists in 13 Champions League appearances for his Italian club, while he has 15 goals and 17 assists in 45 matches in Serie A.

Kvaratskhelia represented Rubin Kazan between 2019 and 2022, departing the club last year due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Both Man United and Man City are expected to sign new attackers next year, with the two clubs also being linked with Bayern's Leroy Sane.

The Germany international's current deal at Allianz Arena is due to expire in the summer of 2025, and it is understood that he could leave the Munich giants at the end of the campaign.
