Arch rivals Rosario Central and Newell's Old Boys will lock horns for the Clasico Rosarino in the Argentine Primera Division on Thursday.

Both sides will be looking to return to winning ways after playing out goalless draws in their last matches against Independiente and Racing Club respectively.

We say: Rosario Central 1-1 Newell's Old Boys

Neither team will want to come away from this fiercely-contested derby on the losing side, particularly the hosts who are precariously positioned just above the bottom three.

While Newell's Old Boys will be regarded as the slight favourites given their current form, Rosario have fared better in recent meetings against them, and we expect the hosts to claim a hard-fought point at the Estadio Gigante de Arroyito.

Talleres will welcome Banfield to the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes for their Argentine Primera Division encounter on Thursday.

The hosts have lost each of their last three home league matches without scoring, while the visitors are looking to extend their unbeaten away run to six games.

Talleres have fared better in games against Banfield over the years, but their recent form in the top flight makes them the underdogs heading into Thursday's contest.

Banfield should have enough quality in their side to secure a slender victory on this occasion, which would move them closer to the top of the table.

Reigning Argentine Primera Division champions River Plate will welcome Gimnasia to El Monumental on Thursday, aiming to bounce back from an underwhelming start to their title defence.

The hosts currently sit seven points behind the summit as well as six points behind their next opponents Gimnasia in fifth place.

Gimnasia have recently lost their momentum, claiming just one point from their last two outings, which will provide River Plate with confidence heading into Thursday's contest.
