How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Manchester City

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Saturday's Premier League showdown with title-chasing Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Three days after knocking them out of the Champions League and ending dreams of a quadruple, Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to land another knockout blow on Manchester City when they return to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino's side benefited from an outrageously dramatic VAR decision to progress into the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in their history on Wednesday night, despite falling to a 4-3 second-leg defeat at the hands of City.

Having toppled the English champions over two legs, Spurs must now attempt to do it again in 90 minutes away from home as the top-four race continues to heat up in the closing stages of the season.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Pochettino could set his side up for this weekend's contest.

Possible TOT XI vs. MNC

Out: Harry Kane (ankle), Eric Dier (hip), Serge Aurier (hamstring), Vincent Janssen (ankle), Moussa Sissoko (groin)
Doubtful: Erik Lamela (hamstring), Harry Winks (groin)

One of the biggest questions facing Pochettino this weekend will be whether to revert to three at the back, but Wednesday's performance against the same opponents could see him keep faith with a four-man backline despite conceding four times.

Personnel changes could also be limited despite the huge amount of effort it took to earn the aggregate win, although an enforced one might see Harry Winks come in for Moussa Sissoko after the Frenchman was forced off during the first half in midweek.

Ben Davies will also be pushing for a recall ahead of Danny Rose at left-back with Pochettino no doubt willing to rest players wherever the replacement will not significantly weaken his side.

Victor Wanyama's recent form could be enough to earn him another starting role in midfield, where Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are once again likely to start.

Son Heung-min continues to carry the main goalscoring burden in Harry Kane's injury absence and should lead the line on Saturday having been rested for the last league outing, when Lucas Moura scored a hat-trick.
