Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has secured pole position for Sunday's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

On the back on a disappointing weekend in Brazil, world champion Verstappen is motivated to end a dominant season with a record-extending 15th victory of the season.

The Dutchman has put himself in line to achieve just that after comfortably emerging as fastest during Q3 ahead of teammate Sergio Perez.

As Red Bull locked out the front row, Ferrari took both the spots on the second with Charles Leclerc edging out Carlos Sainz Jr.

That trend continued as Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, the winner in Brazil last weekend, were fifth and sixth respectively.

McLaren would have been hoping that Lando Norris and Daniel Riccardo would follow suit, but Riccardo was down in 10th as Norris claimed seventh.

Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel, who will retire from Formula 1 after tomorrow's race, will start in ninth, with Alpine's Esteban Ocon a place ahead in eighth.
