Stefano Mauri and Antonio Candreva score as Lazio ease to a 2-0 victory over Livorno in their Serie A match.

Lazio remain in contention to qualify for a Europa League spot following a 2-0 win in Serie A against Livorno this afternoon.

Luca Siligardi came close for the hosts early on, but saw his strike from the edge of the box go narrowly over the crossbar.

In the 15th minute Lazio took the lead when Stefano Mauri was picked out at the back post by Senad Lulic and slotted the ball past Francesco Bardi.

Leandro Greco almost came up with a response for Livorno midway through the first half, but his strike from distance was tipped over the bar by Etrit Berisha.

Lucas Biglia was close to grabbing a second for the visitors before the break, but Bardi kept out his long-range effort.

Six minutes after half time Lazio were able to double their lead, as Antonio Candreva slotted home a penalty following Leandro Rinaudo's hand ball inside the box.

They almost grabbed a third when Candreva drove into the box and forced Bardi into a save from his close-range effort.

Lazio managed to see out the final minutes of the game without much incident as they moved level on points with Torino in the Serie A table.
