Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane in frame for Newcastle United job?

Zinedine Zidane has entered the running to succeed Steve Bruce as Newcastle United's next manager.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane may reportedly be in contention for the Newcastle United job once the Premier League club's takeover is complete.

Newcastle are awaiting the green light from league officials for a Saudi-led consortium to finalise a £300m buyout, which is expected to go through in the next few weeks.

The new owners are said to be keen to replace current manager Steve Bruce with their own man in time for the 2020-21 campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino is considered the frontrunner to take charge at St James' Park, but Madrid chief Zidane has also now apparently entered the running.

Zidane has been included on the 'next manager' list by leading bookmakers, along with Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus and Toon favourite Kevin Keegan.

The Frenchman won 10 major honours in his first spell as Madrid boss and returned for a second stint in March 2019.
