Tom Heathcote kicks Edinburgh to win

Tom Heathcote adds 20 points with the boot to lead Edinburgh to a 25-17 win over Lyon in the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

Tom Heathcote made six penalties and a conversion to lead Edinburgh to a 25-17 win over Lyon OU in the European Rugby Challenge Cup this evening.

Edinburgh made a quick start, taking possession early on to set up Jack Cuthbert for a try in the corner just four minutes into the game.

Masi Matadigo found the try line for the visitors a few minutes later, but Heathcote added five penalties before half time to open up a commanding lead for the hosts.

Lyon continued to push to get back into the match after the break, and after a patient build-up managed to set Didier Tison up for their second try of the night.

However, Lyon were unable to continue their momentum and reduce Edinburgh's lead further, while Heathcote added another three points from a penalty with the last action of the match.
