Preview: Feyenoord vs. Cambuur - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Eredivisie clash between Feyenoord and Cambuur, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

High-flying Feyenoord will be aiming to make it four Eredivisie wins on the spin when they play host to Cambuur at De Kuip on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the away side make the journey to Rotterdam this weekend looking to avoid a third straight league defeat and end an eight-game winless streak.

Feyenoord saw off the threat of RKC Waalwijk in a comfortable 2-0 victory at the Mandemakers Stadion on Sunday.

Orkun Kokcu opened the scoring on the stroke of half time before Jorrit Hendrix put the result beyond doubt in the 89th minute to secure all three points for Arne Slot's men.

De Stadionclub remain in hot pursuit of second-placed PSV Eindhoven and league leaders Ajax, who they currently trail by one and six points respectively with 12 matches left to play.

Lying in store next is a clash versus a Cambuur side yet to come out on top in any of the previous meetings between the sides while also losing each of the last 12.

Only Ajax have picked up more points on home turf than Sunday's hosts who have amassed 25 of a possible 33 points across 11 matches this term.

In what turned out to be one of the games of the season so far, Cambuur fell to a 4-3 defeat versus PEC Zwolle at the Cambuur Stadion on Saturday.

Henk de Jong's men found themselves two goals down in the opening six minutes thanks to strikes from Oussama Darfalou and Mees de Wit before hitting back through Robin Maulun and a Konstantinos Lamprou own goal to go in level at half time.

Daishawn Redan and Bram van Polen restored Zwolle's two-goal lead shortly after the restart, rendering David Sambissa's 78th-minute effort inconsequential.

As a result, the Yellow Blues have dropped to ninth place in the Eredivisie table and are now five points adrift of the last European spot.

Still awaiting their first victory since the turn of the year, Sunday's visitors will be keen to exact revenge for a 3-2 defeat which they suffered back in October's reverse fixture.

Team News

Orkun Kokcu has now scored four goals in his last three appearances for Feyenoord, and the midfielder is one to keep an eye on this weekend.

Philippe Sandler will have to wait a little longer for his debut as he continues to nurse a thigh injury which he picked up while in action for former employers Troyes.

Bryan Linssen is currently on his longest goal drought of the season so far, but the forward is expected to lead the line once again.

Roberts Uldrikis will be pushing for a return to action this weekend after the Latvian sat out Cambuur's last outing with a slight knock.

Twenty-six-year-old David Sambissa grabbed a brace in the reverse fixture and could be handed his first start since returning from international duty with the Gabon national team.

Feyenoord possible starting lineup:
Bijlow; Malacia, Sensesi, Trauner, Geertruida; Kokcu, Aursnes, Til; Sinisterra, Linssen, Jahanbakhsh

Cambuur possible starting lineup:
Stevens; Schmidt, Mac-Intosch, Schouten, Bangura; Jacobs, Hoedemakers, Maulun; Kallon, Boere, Sambissa

We say: Feyenoord 3-1 Cambuur

Feyenoord boast a significantly better squad on paper, and we cannot envisage any other outcome rather than a routine victory for the home side at the end of the 90 minutes.
