West Ham United held by Peterborough United on Slaven Bilic bow

Peterborough spoil Slaven Bilic's first game as West Ham coach following a 3-3 draw at London Road.

Posh looked like spoiling Slaven Bilic's West Ham coronation, having left academy coach Terry Westley in charge of their first-round Europa League tie with Lusitanos.

Only eight minutes elapsed before the League One side opened the scoring against their top-flight visitors, with Ricardo Santos powering a header past Adrian from a corner.

However, the cream soon rose to the top as Bilic's men turned the game on its head shortly after.

First, Mark Noble levelled matters on 12 minutes, before Diafra Sakho added a second in fortuitous fashion when goalkeeper Ben Alnwick's clearance ricocheted off the Senegalese striker and crossed the line.

Martin Samuelsen - making his Hammers debut - marked his bow with a goal on 23 minutes, firing low into the corner as the Irons looked in cruise control.

However, Peterborough threw themselves a lifeline ahead of the second half when Paul Taylor latched on to Michael Bostwick's through-ball before rounding Adrian and reducing the arrears before the break.

The comeback was complete on 59 minutes when Bostwick slotted a penalty past Adrian.

Youngster Amos Nasha almost made a positive first impression in front of Bilic, but his fierce drive was palmed away by Alnwick on 78 minutes as both sides shared the spoils.
