Newcastle Falcons 10-16 Exeter Chiefs
Exeter beat Newcastle Falcons by six points at Kingston Park.

Exeter have secured their first win in three games after beating Newcastle 10-16 at Kingston Park this afternoon.

Chiefs scrum-half Haydn Thomas scored a try inside the first ten minutes to put the road team ahead by five, before Igancio Mieres added two. The 24-year-old fly-half then added three to their total before the break from a penalty to extend their lead to ten.

Opposite number Jimmy Gopperth put the hosts on the board immediately after the restart by kicking a penalty of his own, but Mieres responded in kind in a matter of minutes to re-establish the gap.

Newcastle's Tim Swinson scored a late try that Gopperth successfully converted, but Mieres's drop goal allowed Exeter to escape still in front by six.
